Tuesday Lowdown, issue no. 9
We’ve all had enough of winter at this point… No snow in the forecast for the next 10 days will give you some time to spice things up if you read to the end! We delayed a day on this issue to tie up some sandwichcrafting loose ends!

🌽 Farm Shares 🥬

It doesn’t feel like it but spring is right around the corner. A couple years ago we signed up for a CSA Farm Share at Oxen Hill Farms in Suffield. Each week we picked up 7-8 fresh organic items from their farm on Hill Street. We’re looking forward to doing the same this year. Signup’s start the first week in March. Learn more about it here:

Sub-Edge Farm is another great local farm offering shares with multiple pickup locations in the Farmington Valley area.

🏠 How to Buy A House in 2025🌳 Part 6

Buying a home isn’t just about what works right now—it’s about making sure it will still be a good fit years down the road. The best home purchases are the ones that account for both today’s needs and the changes life will bring in the future. When considering a home, think beyond the number of bedrooms and square footage. Ask yourself:
• Will this home still work if my job changes? If remote work becomes permanent (or ends), will the location still make sense?
• Do I have room to grow? Whether it’s kids, aging parents, or just needing more space, will this home be functional down the line?
• What will it cost to maintain? A larger home means more upkeep. Factor in property taxes, repairs, and utility costs before committing. Take in consideration your own age as well. What is your life going to look like 15 years from now?
A home that fits your future helps you avoid the expensive cycle of moving too soon. And if you’re serious about finding the right home—not just whatever’s available on the market—stay tuned. Next week, I’ll introduce my Perfect Homefinder System, a smarter way to search for off-market homes that actually meets your needs.
🚊 Downtown Windsor Locks Update🚂

Trinity Development, the developer of the apartments in downtown Windsor Locks, hopes to break ground this year. Here is an update on the project.
🪖First Class🇺🇸
Last weekend Dan Senofonte retired after 21 years of Army service. He began his Army career in February 2004, enlisting as a rifleman with Alpha Company, 3-172nd Mountain Infantry while attending Norwich University. He participated in ROTC and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Medical Services Corps in 2007. As an officer, he served as a Platoon Leader for the 142nd Medical Company (Area Support) and later as HHD Commander for the 118th Multifunctional Medical Battalion, deploying to Balad, Iraq. After his deployment, he resigned his commission and transitioned to active duty as an 18X Special Forces candidate.
He later served with the 82nd Airborne Division, where he successfully completed Ranger School. While awaiting reassignment, he was given the opportunity to attend RASP (Ranger Assessment and Selection Program), graduating as a Distinguished Honor Graduate and earning a spot in the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.
In the Ranger Regiment, he served as a Team Leader, Squad Leader, and Weapons Squad Leader, demonstrating exceptional leadership and professionalism. After leaving active duty in 2019, he continued serving with Charlie Company, 1-102nd Infantry, and later at the Regional Training Institute (RTI).
Throughout his 21-year career, SFC Senofonte earned numerous awards, including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal with “C” Device, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Ranger Tab. His career reflects unwavering commitment, resilience, and leadership, distinguishing himself across both officer and enlisted ranks.
On a personal note, there isn’t anyone I would rather be in business with than Dan. The traits he developed and honed in his military career have allowed him to transition seamlessly to the real estate and home service industries. Coordinating the 10+ individuals it takes to close a transaction is tough. Each of these individuals is self-interested and is, at some point, fighting for the best result for not only their client but themselves. Dan is one of the few who puts the client and what’s right first. Without exception. Dan, thanks for your 21 years of service. It’s an honor to be in business with you and spend the time with you that I get.
